At the beginning of the article, I introduced the development background and current status of motion capture technology, and led to the topic of discussion and different arguments. Next, I explained in detail the view that motion capture technology is conducive to the development of the animation industry. In the third paragraph, I analyzed the shortcomings of the positive view and led to the objection that motion capture technology should not replace the performance of animated characters. After analyzing the viewpoints of both sides, I find that the key to the problem is the different principles of live-action performance and animated character performance, which will be explained in the following two aspects: visual experience and performance method. Finally, the paper analyzes the prospect of motion capture technology and the fields suitable for application, and finally draws a conclusion.
